Hello Jiangsen, ENB and AVA are both mentioned by the Mid West Development Commission as being contenders to develop base load power to the Mid West region.
ENB has a 30-year power generation licence granted, AVA is working on its feasibility study for its coal-fired power station.
From what I can figure, the expansion of regional power depends on the construction of the 330 kV Pinjar-Eneabba transmission line (this is an upgrade project by Western Power, present capacity is 132 kV).
go to Western Power website – wbcorp com au to find a document on the need for this line to be built for the Mid West region to expand.
In a document it states that construction of the 330 kV line would facilitate regional base load power generation (ie in the Mid West), export of power to the SWIS (South West power grid), and it is also stated that the EXISTING NETWORK does not support new generational capacity, a very critical point!
