I have no pity for property investors who will get burnt out of this, they have made thousands of people suffer as a result of their own greed putting people in a position where they cant afford their own home, or out of frustration and panic go out and borrow far more than they can afford.
But at the same time you can not punish all new generations of people making them buy over priced property just to protect the mistakes of people who bought in the last several years.
