"So what you are suggesting is that Australia needs a proper right wing government."

Sevo,I'm not too hung up on colors,I'm mindful its was labor who floated the dollar.
Frankly why they didn't go on and introduce a GST is beyond me.

I had posted some considerable time ago, that I would like a party in Australia, like the progressive conservatives in Newfoundland.

I still adhere to this view.

If I can mix state and federal politics briefly.

A couple of weeks ago the premier of WA(old col ),was talking on 6pr radio.
Paul Murray asked the question about the GST(WA was the last state to sign on,col is an economist by profession and a member of the WA cabinet when little johnny got little richard to sign up).
"Why couldn't you foresee what was going to happen to our economy?"(PM).
"Paul ,nobody could foresee what was going to happen in relation to our economy to this extent".(CB)-(I'm paraphrasing)
Sevo, their talking about WA's for the most part mineral exports(the mining boom, and the reduction in GST flowing back to the state of WA as a consequence of it).

#1,as commodity cycles go,this should have been "picked".

#2, col is an economist,it would appear,is the worst on the planet.

#3,col at every turn has denied the undeniable,he says "there is no boom",when every other bloody indicator says otherwise.

Frankly, how lucky was little johnny losing the election, he lost?

Id say bloody lucky, like a kid at school who guessed the answers, and miraculously got them right, this IMHO is what happened, with johnny and peter running the show.
The empirical historical evidence supports my theory.

Oh yes,I'm not denying, incredibly they left a surplus(so?),but the spending(which is supported by fact),the middle class welfare (supported by fact), had they still been in office, they would have had to do the biggest about face on earth EVAA, in terms of tax cuts to welfare, and tax rates in the history of politics.

Now its possible, they could have put everyone on the scrapheap work wise, but this theory isn't supported by the evidence, they were more socialistic than anyone.

If we just take the car industry as an example Seva.

Federal and state governments put direct cash into the car manufacturing industry.
To support this,we (the government) put a tariff on imported cars.
At a state level,we put a registration fee on the car.
We at a federal level we tax the bejeesus out of the fuel to run it.
All plus of course with a GST.

As Harry Hoo would say amazing.

Apart from the accountant ramming his tongue down the wife's throat every time we see him,Ive no problem with accountants per se,I think the world would be a better place without them however.
