Alarm bells should be ringing in all Western governments if they aren't already. A rather large warning signal to Western economies that they must develop alternative energy supplies and quickly. Dependence on oil must be reduced urgently or the west will be held to ransom and have no alternative but conflict. One thing that springs to mind with energy is that the bulk of the worlds Uranium reserves are located in Western countries USA, Canada, Australia, but several African countries like South Africa,Namibia, Malawi, Tanzania could play a vital role in the future of this energy resource. Will Uranium provide the energy alternative to reduce the West dependence on oil. Industry and transport needs to run on electricity supplied not from oil but a more secure and readily available alternative and Western governments must move rapidly now to those alternatives.
