It took a long time to get where we are in Australia and judging by the banners at the Canberra demonstration and men who think no does not mean no, we still have a long way to go. I think attitudes are mixed - Saudi etc are extremely discriminatory to women but many of the North African countries, Syria, Lebanon appear to be moving with the times.
The winds of change are still blowing - looks as though there will be large demonstrations today in at least Syria and Yemen and probably Bahrain.
