"Both sides dont want peace"
It seems that way from the media but it is not true
1. Palestinian Arab's tell me that the average Palestinian Arab just wants to live in peace
2. All the Israelis I have talked to also wants to live in peace.
3. Israel ethnically cleansed Gaza of all Jews for peace. This was very painful for them. Jews have had a presence in Gaza for 2000 years and whether the the rest of the world agrees or not many Israelis thought they had a strong claim to continue living in Gaza. Regards whether you agree to this they gave this up for peace. They didnt do it to have to go back and shed more blood. They did it to stop bloodshed.
4. The problem is that the Gazan government/Hamas and other powerful people want to annhilate Israel by violence. This is not an overexageration. They state this in words, in writing and in action.
5. Unfairly criticising Israel (Israel should be fairly criticised) just emboldens Hamas. Hamas fire rockets from a civilian area killing Israeli civilians, the world is silent. Israel doesn't fire back and Israeli civilians lose. When Israel fires back and Arab civilians are killed the world jumps up and down. Hamas wins, everyone else loses
