The timing of the Israeli attack is interesting. Clearly, it was timed to happen when the Israelis knew that lame duck Bush would do nothing about their murderous invasion of Gaza but sit in his Texas ranch munching on BBQ and chili.
I don't really believe that Obama would do much for the Palestinians either given his overwhelming selection of a zionist cabinet of helpers but obviously the Israelis are not so sure so timed their attack for this interregnum period.
