It is no secret in Aus that the Jewish lobby is very strong in Aus politics and Aus media beyond its actual population numbers and of course, that's so in the US too as it is being currently played out in the US Presidential election.

IMO Aus should not condone the killing of 42,000 Palistinians in revenge for Hamas killing 1140 Jewish people which we do not condone either.
Just think about it? If Muslims took revenge on Jewish people to the same proportion as Israel has killed Palistinians in lieu of Oct 7 .(eg 40:1) then that would imply that over time the Muslims would kill 1.6 million Jews! This is why revenge killing (an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth .....in this case 40 eyes for an eye and 40 teeth for a tooth .....is simply uncivilised by 21st C standards . The accepted norm is proportionality.... and it would be difficult if not impossible to argue that Israel's response to Oct 7 was/is proportional.
