My late father flew Lancaster bombers over Germany in 1943,44 & 45 until the war finished. Bomber Command absolutely flattened Dresden and its residents.
He was only 21 and his crew were fighting for their country, they thought they were doing the right thing. Take a look at Dresden 78 years later and it's an absolute picture, very modern. Wars are terrible things but sometimes good things happen afterwards.
