I've worked out that when the accumulators want to do just that, you have to go along for the ride. There is always a trend just before news is released for SPs to be driven down and then surprise, surprise, out comes a result or whatever and bang up she goes.
Learning to time your run is all you can do once the big players are in town. Small guys will make little difference to SP trends when they are hovering.
Look at GXY in the last few days, $360M annual profit predicted on SDV feasibility study. Price was at 2.80 went to 3.20 then news and then down she goes ready for the next announcement.
Its just a cycle that as a trader you have to get familiar with IMO.
