Here is a link to the latest research presented on Thursday night at the Australian Gastroenterology Week. It was presented by a team lead by Professor Jacob George who is the head of the Liver Department at Westmead Hospital/Millenium Institute.
Title of presentation was: SERUM DICKKOPF-1, OSTEOPONTIN AND MIDKINE AS NOVEL BIOMARKERS FOR THE DIAGNOSIS AND PRE-CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS OF HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA.

The feedback was that Midkine was a very accurate predictor of early liver cancer. This just just backs up research done early in the year in France and some research last year in China.
