Hedging can be bit risky particularly if there is a breakdown in production
the company would probably have to stump up with the cash or buy ore from someone else which in turn could send it broke
But what I can't understand is why they didn't hedge just a bit of the output
this complete lack of hedging was a complete disaster

interesting about the zinc oxidizing
wonder if they couldn't mothball the zinc operations and redeploy the workers in the cashflow positive areas eg Prominent Hill and the other copper operations
Maybe the miners might not want to move
perhaps part of the work could be to do this prestripping
apparently there is about 18 months of work there
anyway it will be very interesting to find out what KZL comes up with on thursday
