I agree with your comments. Particularly the following:

My research so far in this oil and gas business has proven to me that one well (or two, or even three or four) are not conclusive if they show negative results.

I think P2 must have provided valuable data to COP & KAR about the Poseiden prospect. Long term it looks to be still in the money given the commitment of COP and the anns so far.
Despite my long term view, I am out at the moment as I prefer shorter term trading. Just my personality. eg the rather balanced ann today is sure to be taken as negative even if it isn't that bad.
