MINISTER OF TRANSPORT VISITS MARTIN AIRCRAFT COMPANY
On Friday, the New Zealand Transport Minister, the Hon Simon Bridges visited our production facilities in Christchurch New Zealand.
The Minister enjoyed his visit, and came away with a fantastic overview of Martin Aircraft Company and our plans for commercialisation of the Martin Jetpack.
He was particularly pleased to see hear how well-coordinated and helpful the various regulatory departments have been in assisting with certification of the Martin Jetpack both for manned and unmanned air vehicle (UAV) operations and how this experience can be used to obtain similar certification with other national regulators.
Martin Jetpack has been designed with safety in mind and for easy adoption, with pilot qualifications easy to obtain. The Jetpack is “fly by wire” so unlike other aircraft including helicopters it is relatively easy to operate. The Minister himself took the opportunity to test fly a Jetpack using our Simulator and quickly became skilled in its operation flying a number of sorties.
