Crikey who are you kidding. I have checked out a lot of construction sites recently as I was looking for an investment property and yes that type of work is hard yakka but what I noted was that a fair percentage of those workers were of overseas decent. Hard work has traditionally been the province of migrants thats why going back to the 1960’s onwards a fair swag of builders/bricklayers/concrete workers/etc were jobs done by migrants. Even the Snowy Hydro Electricity Scheme was built on the backs of migrant labour and many died carrying out that work.
I note that many on current construction sites doing the hard yakka are from the Middle East.
