Not quite sure it is the end of the World, back when our kids were born visiting hours were for 1 hr day between 7-8pm and only able to see the baby through a glass window. Similarly partners were not allowed to be present at the birth.
All of our kids have grown up into emotional healthy individuals.
I would have thought the critical issue is wherever possible Mother staying at home to bring up the children and not placing them in the care of childcare centres.
