The following is an extract from a recent press article quoting a customs spokesman:
"Michie also said that the U.S. has stepped up the use of electronic seals on cargo that's been checked in foreign ports. If the container is tampered with, the seal would be disturbed and inspectors know to check the shipment carefully. Containers with seals that have not been tampered with can move through quicker."
The potential of Mikoh Imaging Systems should also not be discounted. That was obviously acquired before Sept 11 when MIK was probably more cautious as to the prospects of widespread commercialisation of Smart & Secure but looks like becoming a good little earner in its own right. MIK apparently received approx $1.6 million in orders from the recent tradeshow in the UK. Not bad for a company with a market cap of approx $6 million.
The recent announcement in relation to windshield labels is evidence of MIK's ability to move beyond the Government sector. The agreement appears to be with Transcore, the market leader in its field:
