- Lithium prices to stay subdued for the next 6-12 months
- Spot prices to remain well below the price used in the DFS, making FID 1st qtr impossible
- burning cash at rate of $80-$100M pa. Only 1-1.5qtrs of cash remaining. If the cash burn rate doesn't reduce significantly, expect to see significant dilution between now and first income.....post 2029.
- One of the highest CAPEX projects going around.
OPEX is highest in Argentina.
- Using an experimental process no one else wants
- Lower recoveries compared to peers.
- Very energy intensive.....on par with Nemaska's spod + electrolysis......with no access to power
- Using nearly 2GL of fresh water per annum for the first 2 years.
- On a Salar that is home to endangered species, using a process that involves adding drain cleaner to the brine followed by reinjection which has never been done before.
Look on the bright side.......the country has a stable currency and government.
