If you go back over past announcements most of your questions will be answered, particularly the original JORC statement which must have been 2007 or 2008.
Basically the seams are open at depth but the dip is extremely high, something like 50 degrees, which quickly takes the seams out of the economic zone for open cut mining.
The seams actually outcrop at surface (something almost unheard of in Australia) so I would think that's how the drilling area was identified.
There may be more prospects for more seams in the rest of the concession area but you'd expect them to be outcropping too and thus already known.
It's just a hunch, but from my years drilling for this stuff my guess is that there will be a bit of extra resource defined from more drilling but that they have already JORCed the 'sweet spot' in the concession.
Of course, CES might already have identified another sweet spot from surface mapping and be keeping the news quiet.
