Interesting one of the presenters in the session Casino Video Analytics and AI: Now and the Future on Wed 6th (Matt McFarlane - CEO of iCetana) is from Perth and iCetana is spin out from Curtin University, which is where PVDM developed BRN tech. Doesn't appear to be any link between them though

Matt Macfarlane: CEO iCetana
Matt is the founding-CEO of iCetana, launching the company as a spin-out from AI/machine learning research at Curtin University (Western Australia) in 2009. He has an enduring passion for software technology companies and co-founded a $32m venture capital fund which counts iCetana amongst its’ investees. In conjunction with his CEO and director role at iCetana he is Chair of Spacecubed Ventures (co-working) and a director of Agworld (farm management software), AEGIC (grains technology research) and PetRescue (pet re-homing platform). In 2017 he was named the Pearcey Western Australian Entrepreneur of the Year.
