And all of this will happen in the next six months.

Nissan and NEC just opted for Lithium Ion polymer batteries and so did Mitsuibishi for their trucks.

Whatever you do don't tell Honda about the batteries exploding as they already have 100,000 HEV's on the road in the USA, and at a recent Japanese car think tank I attended one reputable manufacturer estimated there will be 45 million +/- 5 million HEV and EV vehicles on the road by 2010 using 2kg of lithium carbonate in the battery construction and 1.4kg by 2012.

GMH in the US have 240 people working on this battery right now so it can take 500 charges not just a few. They also mentioned that boron is likely to be used with lithium in the cathode in the battery.
