Stating the obvious the problem for alara is gaining mining licences in both oman and sa. The question I ask is have there been any other mineral (not oil)mining licences issued in either country to locals or foreign companies in the past 12 months? I have done a very unsophisticated google search and come up with nought. Personally I will only start to panic if there are other licences (particularly to foreigners) being issued, otherwise hang on because when the ride starts it will be a doosy.
