    Good to see a response with some bigger picture thinking instead of being dismissed as a loonie leftie for once.

    I certainly rank among those who regard our taxation system and our large corporate sector as badly broken and in desperate need of overhaul from the ground up.

    It's increasingly apparent that not only is our taxation system inequitable but that it's fostering an increasingly unproductive and fossilised macro-corporate sector.

    Like other posters on HC I've watched as companies I've invested in sprout forth with rhetoric regurgitated by friendly analysts etc, only to 'burn cash' while in reality doing next to nothing. Any study of our materials sector and especially the gold sector is sickening - as demonstrated even here on HC's stock threads.

    Sadly; neither Julia Gillard nor Tony Abbott offer any hope on major taxation reform; let alone addressing the mountain of issues swirling around corporate practices.
