But i'm relaxed that in 3 or so months or may be sooner my buys yesterday will look quite astute.
Interesting analysis JasonKelly; there probably is a whole lot of macro noise driving a fair bit of it this week.
My view is most of the short at 50 to 70 would have covered in a 14 to 30 range and its a completely different bunch holding the 13% short now.
Hedge funds tend to play pass the parcel with their shorts like they're at a 5 year old's birthday party, and typically won't hold short positions more than 2 or so months. They typically trade it on a specific event by a specific date, eg leaking negative stuff to the AFR to publish, or an earnings miss etc, and then cover when the event plays out.
