Yeah absolutely it doesn’t make your pattern invalid and as a gap fan I love that sort of stuff. And for anyone else interested, the below link explains it pretty simply.

Imback, as you would well know there is always a lot of un-necessary attention placed on gaps so I was just wanting to make sure folks knew there weren’t any. Gap opens yes but closed intraday.
You're a game man taking entries currently (love your style) especially when you consider the shorter time frame charts I’ve posted. I think there’s a 10% trade in it simply on how oversold it is but I need to wait for the 30 min chart to signal an entry. But that’s just me.
