With so many environmental groups, and most importantly the people of PNG so against DSTP, I can't imagine that Marengo would be approved if it decides to chose the DSTP method. Ramu's use of it for the last year, is already causing environmental damage, according to the PNG people. It may be a less expensive method, but it's such a hot political potato, (and legitimately so, by my lights), that to go in that direction makes no sense, if O'Neil is to be believed. To my mind, MMC, after spending so much time on community relations, broke trust with the people of PNG, when it rescinded it's decision to not use DSTP and now  has decided to reconsider it, when the going is tough.
