This sounds a bit like the maiden and the stormtrooper.
Rape may be inevitable but to garner sympathy "The Maiden" must show signs of a struggle. You know: Torn clothes, bruises around the throat and thighs, uncontrollable sobbing.
The kindest thing that may be said of AVM is that they followed the old maxim; "When rape is inevitable, lay back and think of England." Personally, I think they had their eyes wide open.
