Hi legume, all brokers are in the habit of lowering thier own forcasts right up until reporting,,then its a beat ,,then its boom time (this has been happening for a while),,,,,those same brokers have missed for years on this particular stock,(and been rubbished by just about everyone unless its a bulls call)
I just note that the company has also missed its own forecasts since the merger....so if some want to pay 2015 Earnings in early 2013 based on projections of huge production increases, 2000 gold price and forecasts, and think the previous performance is meaningless , that is a matter for them........
Once again like the previous six months, production will have to be awesome going forward with rising Brent, energy, transportation wages costs
