It's good to see the demand for Mineral Sands remains solid, despit the economic woes.....

ILUKA Resources' annual net profit climbed 52 per cent to $77.5 million on the back of improved performance despite the global crisis.

The Perth-based miner said that it isn’t giving guidance for 2009 due to the uncertain conditions but that its business remains well placed.

“Despite current uncertainties, Iluka’s operational and marketing performance continues to improve, its major projects remain on track supported by a strong balance sheet, and confidence about the positive fundamentals of the mineral sands industry remains high,” Iluka said in a statement.
