Do I think that Arkaroola should be mined?
No I don't.
Not for uranium not for anything.
I am not anti uranium, nor am I green.

This mine is opposed by many, on all sides of politics.
Its not just the freak green fringe and the anti nuclear lobby that want this mine stopped.

Everybody keeps saying on this thread what a wonderful deposit it is. But is it really?

This will be the lowest grade underground uranium mine in the world, is it really economic?

They need to dig an 8 km tunnel, how many years will that take? How much will it cost?
How safe will it be in one of the most geologically active and earthquake prone parts of Australia.

There is no water.
Where will it come from and how much will it cost.
Desalination is the tip here, but how much will the pipeline be and tbe plant cost.
Another $200M maybe???

If they dig 900t per year, and it costs $40lb to dig and process and the plant, water, and tunnel costs $900M
At $65 per lb, they will only make $50M per year.
Thats nowhere near enough to pay the interest bill.

Economically, politically, environmentally, where is this project going?

Don't stick your head in the sand, its your money.
Its time to ask Marathon some hard questions.

Where will the water come from?
How long will the 8 Km long portal take to dig?
How much will it cost?

Is it likely tailings will need to be buried back under Mt Gee? If so how much will that cost?

How much more drilling do you need to do before you can plan underground mine development?

What is the companies opinion on the renewal of the exploration lease?

How much more drilling is required to get the Mt Gee project to the reserve status, so that a BFS can be completed.?

What is the approval process, from start to finish?
What difficulties are caused by Mt Gee categorised as "Flinders Ranges Class A"?

How long will it really take to get a mine going at Mt Gee if all goes well?

Do your own research....
