The bit about the "JORC complaint resource for Rossing South, due out in the first quarter of 2009" is far more likely with the extra drill rigs the merger will bring.

I am hopeful that RIO, now that they have a stake, will come to the party with drill rigs and other support. This just determines "when" not "if", the result is a foregone conclusion.

After the merger, it will be very, very, interesting to see if RIO makes further acquisitions based on milestones achieved in proving up the resource or whether they will throw caution to the wind and start accumulating straight away.

Personally, I think they will take the risk-minimisation approach and accumulate as the resource is gradually confirmed. That is fine by me because it means they will ultimately pay more.
