they are a made up thing by citigroup but a made up thing that trades on the ASX - so u can buy them or sell them..... some are ASX traded only and some are CBOE traded only. citigroup does them (both put and call) for all sorts of stocks...... and they trade in the same way a stock does via ur broker using the code given.
emr are thinly traded but here is a screenshot of similar for csl. the price that is paid for the warrant is roughly the share price minus the exercise price. if u only had $282 u could buy a single csl share or alternatively for the same $282 buy nearly 4 call warrants (with fixed money oweing later unless u sell them before)
its kinda like betting on horse racing by betting on greyhounds (its all just betting in the end).
