Is Business Getting greedy ?
1,3mill low paid workers in Australia.
If there were 300000, might be ok, but 1.3mill. is a embarassment and disgrace for Australia. The is huge potential left out to stimulate the economy.
Julia Gillard has condemned the Fair Pay Commission's minimum wage freeze as a disappointing decision that will cut real wages for the nation's lowest-paid workers.
The minimum wage remains $564.78 a week, despite unions pushing for a $21 rise.
Business groups successfully argued for no rise for 1.3 million low-paid workers, warning it would cost jobs.
“We understand that the Australian Fair Pay Commission is confronting the most difficult environment in which to set minimum wages for many decades,” Ms Gillard said today.
“But we do believe the decision is a disappointing one.
“It's a disappointing one for those Australians who live on minimum wages and who do it tough.”
