Are you telling me that companies who drill for gas are not part of the mining industry? Not sure what you are on about there.
You seem to suggest that there is no mass destruction of ag land because the hole is small yet you neglect the fact that just about everyone with an issue with CSG is due to the chemicals they pump in so as to fracture and release the gas. Do the chemicals contaminate the water table and does it lead to the unnatural alteration of the water table ?
While I don't know the answers I do think they have the right to question it and think the onus should be on the miners to prove that they do not harm the environment or the land that the farmers use.
I am in no way a greenie. I'm all for mining.
