Malyasia has sought foreign investment into their country, to increase jobs and revenue for it's people. To offer a 12 year tax free carrot, they were bound to attract interest.
It is sad that when a company like Lynas comes along and in good faith, builds a processing plant in Malaysia, then gets totally screwed over by the government that invited them in the first place. In this world there is a thing called calma. Let's hope that what Malaysia has done to Lynas, comes back on them, and their 3rd world economy ten fold! As a battling investor that thought Lynas was a good thing, I am now bankrupt due to what has happened. The share price dropped from AUD 2.80 to currently 61cents. The peasants with power, lead by an almighty retired maths teacher, have caused myself, and no doubt thousands of other battling individual small time investors nothing but hurt, and financial ruin. I hope they are proud of themselves and what their nation has done, to a company that took up their invitation to invest in Malaysia. I will never have anything to do with Malaysia, or holiday their again. I hope like minded people who have been affected treat Malaysia with the contempt they deserve. Who said Asia was governed by corruption? It appears they have suddenly become 'green' with ...envy?...and seek to destroy Lynas. Hope the election is over soon, and the new government, and Lynas take legal action against the perpertrators of this assasination attempt on Lynas. Jail them for life, or at the very least, issue fines for the cost that has been lost by investing in Malaysia, and the bad taste investors now have.
