The Swedish government is investigating a faster environmental permit process for mining.
The process for opening new mines should be reviewed. The government has given Monica Daoson, the councilor of the Land and Environmental Court, the task of investigating environmental assessments that are made when a mine is opened. "There is a strong demand for it, not least from industry, which means it takes too long today. There is also uncertainty about the process, "says Minister of Industry, Mikael Damberg (S), to Dagens Industri.
Monica Daoson's mission will be completed by the end of September 2018.
