AIM: Movers and Shakers - World Mining Stocks Magazine`s Luke Clancy
The fastest upward-moving mining stock on London’s AIM market on the day of writing this blog (June 20th) was AIM Resources (profiled in WMS in May 2005). AIM Resources’ share price was up 13.3%.
AIM Resources was my share pick of the year for 2006’s annual City Tipster’s Lunch (last year sponsored by Conroy Diamonds) and it won top spot with an appreciation of some 330%.
AIM Resources’ share price has appreciated by 51% over the past three months and I believe there is still considerable upside to this junior, which is focused on the acquisition and development of major mining ventures in Africa.
Its Perkoa Zinc Project in Burkina Faso is progressing towards first production in early 2008 from an ore reserve of 6.3 Mt at 14.5% zinc, while the Mumbwa copper-gold project in Zambia is prospective for ‘Olympic Dam’ style deposits. The company also has a nickel-platinum project in South Africa.
