Australian dollar jumps on back of greenback retreat, metals jump

The Australian dollar retopped the US79¢ mark overnight, lifted by a surge in base metals and a retreat in the greenback.
Industrial metals leapt higher in London with zinc smashing through the $US3000 a tonne level for the first time in nearly a decade. Aluminium, nickel, copper and lead also were higher.
Great timing for a surge in nickel prices!!!!
