It's a fair point although volume can be overstated where as shorts cannot. I'd argue it's a nulling effect with the more tangible effect being good news,
long insto won't exit at open maybe by days end...
Short iinsto will exit at open (which is buying), because the days risk is too high for an irrational short position along with the fact anything under 94c is profit for them (perhaps not after interest though)
But then bigger pout is How many new investors when we have good news? Alot more..
How about the day after the good news? Astronomical!
