Burbanks plant up and running

RAMELIUS Resources has successfully recommissioned the Burbanks treatment plant and started 24-hour continuous production of gold from its Wattle Dam stockpiles.

The plant is expected to process around 15,000 tonnes of high-grade ore next month, Ramelius said.
The Burbanks plant was commissioned after a major refurbishment of crushing and milling circuits, and initially processed some 3000t of low-grade ore from Wattle Dam stockpiles.
Haulage of high-grade ore from the stockpiles has also begun to continue feeding the plant.
Ramelius said in a market announcement today it would work to improve the plant and increase its throughput, with production expected to continue uninterrupted until the end of this year.
"The company has taken a long-term view reflecting the confidence [it] has in expanding its resources and reserves at its Wattle Dam Gold Mine and Spargoville project area," the company added.
Ramelius purchased the plant, which is 8km south of Coolgardie, for $2.8 million late last year after winding down mining at its Wattle Dam project.
The plant will be used initially to process the stockpiles from mining – some 100,000t grading 10.1 grams per tonne gold.
Shares in Ramelius gained 4c on the back of the announcement to $1.67 in morning trade.
