Nice of the QLD Govt to make some enquiries and get back to me - response is below. Nothing from Aust Govt as yet though.

Thank you for your e-mail of 27 July seeking information concerning any assistance that may be provided in the short term to Metal Storm.
I am sympathetic to the difficulties that Metal Storm has experienced in capital raising endeavours which culminated in the decision to voluntarily appoint an administrator, following the termination of the Umbrella Deed with Australian Special Opportunity Fund LP and Luxinvest Capital Advisors SA.
A Departmental representative has had a disucssion with the Adminstrator regarding Metal Storm's situation and has provided an outline of the services the Department offers the business community in Queensland . The services include supporting companies through the commercialisation process by way of the advice and professional development programs offered by Australian Institute of Commercialisation http://www.ausicom.com/ as it is not usual practise for Government to provide direct financial support to companies seeking to raise capital.
It is my understanding that the board of Metal Storm hope that the company can be restructured through the voluntary administration process or that it can be sold as a a going concern.
Yours sincerely
xxxx
