I do not chastise those who have already been there done that. I wasn't talking to/about you. I was commenting on those who have for so long stick by AB, defewnded him and criticised loudly everything we have said against him, and now front up and applaud a class action but still won't lend their support to it but are happy to jump in right at the end IF the rest of us can get it going. That is hypocritical.
You can call what I am doing a duty if you want but it is anything but. I have been ripped off for everything. If it was lost on a legitimate sh!t happens type of exercise where everybody was doing everything they could to ensure success then there would be no CA. But that isn't the case. We lost our money for a lot of unsavoury reasons and I want my pound of flesh IF I can get it.
Also, your simplistic rationale of "she'll be right mate, just dust off and start again" lets this sort of thing perpetuate and in certain circumstances, mine included, because I am retired on an aged pension there is no dusting off and starting again so your argument is essentially only self centred.
Your post regarding lack of success in historical case you have been party to may be due to your lethargy, cynicism, or lack of commitment. Don't know and not intending to argue it with you but I am sure those who have just succeeded in getting a class action going against QBE through THEIR persistence would argue with you as would those who have recouped money from the Banks, James Hardie, the Bushfire class actions, Raytheon, Sons of Gwalia, WorldCom, and current actions against, Newcrest, Cash Converters, and the list of successful and ongoing cases goes on and on. So they are out there, they are successful and theycan be brought to justice. Just not the ones you have been involved in.
Just because those you have been involved in didn't get off the ground for whatever reason does not mean we should lie down and let these people walk all over us. No way. In fact it is MORE reason why we should get some successful prosecutions. Then maybe you won't have to end up involved in even more CA's in the future.
With a bit of luck and persistence we can get this one over the line. At least myself and a lot of other like minded people won't die wondering. The rest can please themselves.
