Could you inform us as to the difference between fugitive emissions from shale gas mining as cited by Mr Buckingham and fugitive emissions such as those apparently identified by Santos et al in Queensland? I thought methane was methane?
Perhaps you are referring to other (trace) emissions, but the question is similar - how do toxic emissions in Australia (from CSG) differ from those in the US (from shale)? (Serious question BTW! I assume that while the methane is the same, other gases, radioactivity etc would vary, just as they do from region to region in the US.)
Has any research been conducted in Australia? or are you (or indeed anyone else here) aware of any current or proposed research? Also what variation, if any, there is on a regional basis in Australia, particularly in the Clarence-Moreton?
It would be of great value to your cause to have emissions which were NOT swimming in traces of numerous nasties, and/or radioactive!
