I now do recall that Chris Ellison tried to ambush the new WC8 Board by changing his proxy at a meeting to attempt to vote down the incentives.
Fortunately, the very sneaky effort failed … but he won’t have won any friends.
A rather strange action given he could have simply rung up the Coy secretary and flagged his intent and the motion could have been renegotiated or withdrawn.

to answer your question, I doubt very much whether WC8 board would want to do business with Chris Ellison after that.
