I don't know where you live papa but there is little to no love at all for Roger Cook. Even Mark was backtracking in polls before he left (admittedly you can only stay at the very top for so long) because he wanted to earn some real dosh. An unknown Liberal is better than the guy that has been fighting the nurses, teachers and cops over a 3% payrise.
With an election being so far away there is no real public polling but here is an article showing some figures that Labor is now behind.

It's just my opinion that removing the reservation will be a political hot potato. We have all heard of the outrageous gas prices on the East coast whilst we have enjoyed the stability of prices on the West coast. Any threat to that during a cost of living crisis could be a disaster for whoever proposes the change. This is all just my opinion but opinions are all we have at this point with regard to removing the export ban.
