Mr Ellison said in August that MinRes was making up its lithium strategy as it went along, but wanted to sell directly to car makers, rather than battery manufacturers and chemicals producers.
He is expected to provide more insight into the lithium strategy at the annual general meeting on November 16.
MinRes has forked out more than $300 million in a few weeks for a 19.94 stake in Wildcat Resources and a 12.29 per cent stake in SQM takeover target Azure Minerals, along with the Pantoro deal.
