SYNTHETIC GRAPHITE PRODUCTION (HAZER)
In December 2017, MRL and Hazer Group Ltd executed a binding agreement for the design and construc on of commercial scale synthe c graphite facili es. As part of this agreement, MRL secured an exclusive worldwide IP licence to u lise the Hazer process for the primary purpose of producing synthe c graphite from natural gas and iron ore.
The design and construction of the continuous feed pilot plant is under way with an aim to commence commissioning during Q4 FY19. MRL envisages commencing construction for a single 1,000tpa full scale module during second half FY19 for subsequent use in a mul -module, which will be capable of producing high quality graphite suitable for high value applications including lithium ion batteries.
Q4 FY19 is later than I had hoped, are they on track?
