Some people just prefer honesty and validation of reports through official means, i.e. asx announcements. I'm very curious about this few hundred million shares claim too.
Even if it's true it's not right for some holders to be informed preferentially and some guy on a forum to pass it on. They need to step up their attention to detail and timeliness in informing the market.
And btw that little sentiment box means bugger all to me because as you insinuate it can easily be used to mislead assuming people even bother to keep it up to date.
I click it once and never look at it again. P.S. I currently own some shares in stx.
