Tony Abbott nevertheless chose Sophie Mirabella for his frontbench and has backed her re-election to the hilt; with saturation advertising and mailouts strongly associating himself with Mirabella throughout Indi.
The good people of Indi will also not forget the deployment and strong association of Joe Hockey, Malcolm Turnbull, Greg Hunt and even Barnaby Joyce to Mirabella's campaign in Indi. They have long memories!
Abbott will be subject to scrutiny if he becomes PM; that will include the composition of his frontbench and the washup from the election campaign.
If as expected the Coalition wins on Saturday Abbott may be like Rudd13 and be denied the normal honeymoon period mainstream Australians extend to incoming governments. He may struggle to deliver the removal of Julia Gillard's Climate Tax / ETS and even be denied his planned raid on Clean Energy Fund.
As PM he may continue to duck-n-weave but it is he who has to score points and he who will be held to account for failure to deliver!
Abbott's talk of a double dissolution reminds me of boxers mouthing off before their fights! He lacks the credibility and the ticker to carry through.
