Good job explaining, Oilman, but some are not listening. As I wrote once before-- when you are drilling a wildcat you always drill to basement (bedrock, or granite-- where the oil and gas producing layers end)just to see what's there. Your seismic has led you to believe nothing is down there, but why not drill it while you're so close. You expected nothing, and you found nothing-- so you set your liner and start testing the zones that have looked good while you were drilling through them. This will take awhile, as you test every prospective zone from bottom upwards.
I suggest, if you don't understand these basic concepts, to go to any of the websites that will explain how a well is drilled, fraced, tested, produced, and so on.
When you work in the oil field (20+ years for me) you find it hard to explain these simple terms (to you) to the layman. That's why-- if you're investing in these companies-- you need to study up. Same goes for the mining business.
